Every winter, this small town sponsors Frozen Dead Guy Days, an outrageous celebration premised on an honored resident: a deceased and cryogenically-frozen man. Though I took the photo in the summer, this sculpture was created by a local artist for the Winter 2009 event. It certainly suggests the counter culture underpinnings of the town, standing defiant, even as gentrification closes in.
